Submitting an Ownership Change Request does not itself transfer legal ownership or guarantee an immediate change to JP Oil’s ownership or payment records. JP Oil may require additional documentation or verification.
An owner passed away — with a will
Documentation may include a death certificate, will, Judgment of Possession or equivalent probate documents, Letters Testamentary, and W-9s for applicable new payees.
An owner passed away — without a will
Documentation may include a death certificate, Death & Heirship Affidavit, and W-9s for applicable heirs or new payees.
Sale or assignment
A recorded deed, assignment, conveyance, or other ownership instrument may be required.
Transfer to a trust
A trust agreement, memorandum or certificate of trust, applicable recorded conveyance, and W-9 may be required.
Name change or divorce
Supporting documents may include a marriage certificate, divorce decree, court order, recorded conveyance, or updated W-9.
Corporate change or merger
Official name-change or merger documentation and an updated W-9 may be required.
POA, guardianship, or bankruptcy
Applicable powers, letters, court orders, trustee documentation, or court-approved conveyances may be required.
